Melarsomine dihydrochloride is a trivalent arsenical compound used as an adulticide. Melarsomine dihydrochloride can be used for the reserach of canine heartworm disease and other helminth infections.

Melarsomine (2.5 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) combined with Doramectin managed to clear the D. repens infection in dogs.
Melarsomine (0.25 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) can cure T. evansi infection in camels.
Melarsomine (0.5 mg/kg; deep i.m. injection) can cure T. evansi infection in dairy cattle in Thailand.
